Leaving the apartment without signed lease

I have been living in one of the apartments in Michigan for a month, but for some reasons the leasing office people delayed the process. Is it legal to move out of the apartment now? Please assist. Thanks for viewing..

If you do not have a signed lease, it seems there would be no obligation. You may want to check with the leasing office on their rules/regs.
Ok thank you.I will check it out.
Probably not. Just because you did not receive a signed lease, it doesn’t mean that one doesn’t exist. They can always claim it got lost in the mail, etc. However, if YOU did not sign the lease, you’re probably free to move.  -----Disclaimer: Since I’ve been answering a lot of questions, I thought I would make the following statement. I’m not affiliated with EZlandlord Forms. I’m just here (not sure how long) to help those that have questions. Having 40+ yrs with Rental Property and done well, it’s my way of “Pay it Forward (check out the movie).” However, it is up to you to become familiar with your State/Local laws. I always like to know if the suggestions I offer are helpful. Feel free to comment anytime. Thanks in Advance
