I am a new landlord and a lot of the properties in my area are rented through word of mouth and local ads. Because I am new to the area should I do mailings to local churches, businesses and school districts advertising for local renters? Thanks for your help. BH, PA

A good combination of rental marketing techniques includes local newspaper advertising, online rental listings (Craigslist, Hotpads, etc), putting a For Rent sign in the window of the rental property, and word of mouth through your existing contacts. Best of luck filling your rental property!

Thanks for your help Brian. I have done all of those techniques, I quess it is a waiting game for the most part.
