Move-out & Eviction
Tenant who never paid

I let a contractor live in my house for the past 18 months in exchange for renovation services. Now the work is done, I want to rent the house and he refuses to leave. I live in CT. As he has never paid a cent of rent, is he a "tenant" and consequently I need to go thru the legal eviction process or I can just put his stuff out of the house? In other words, is there something like squatters rights which entitles him to same rents as an individual who paid rent?

Once they established residency at the home, you became a landlord per say. To get them out, I believe you will need to go through the eviction process.

Sorry, I meant to say entitles him to same "rights" as an individual who paid rent?
