I am new a the retnal property game. I have tenants who are 5 months into a 24 month lease in SC. They just infomred me that they both lost there job and will not be able to make the rent payment. What is the appropiate way to handle this?

They did inform you that the have had a change in employment so that is a good thing, however if they are unable to pay you will need to evict them unless you are able to work with them and set up some sort of payment plan. Communication and cooperation are extremely important to keep up at this point. Have a sit down with them to run through a number of different options to help them pay the rent. You may consider writing up a new contract for them to agree to.
