Security deposit accounting letter

The security deposit accounting letter deadline is February 15, 2015. I mailed the security deposit accounting letter to the tenant's new address on February 5th, 2015. The postal service tracker shows that delivery was attempted on February 9th. There was no authorized agent at home to sign for it, so it went back to the post office and apparently just sitting there waiting for the former tenant to come pick it up. It is now February 13th. Any advice out there? Thanks. Linda

You have proof that you tried to send, if there is no other way to contact the tenant then there is nothing you can do. Try as many ways as you can to contact and if possible hand deliver it or post it to your rental property like an eviction notice will be.
