Debt collection

I had a tenant move out recently who caused several thousands of dollars in damages to my property. So far, I've tried Transunion and Equifax, as well as LexisNexis debt collection with no success. Does anyone know if it's possible to recover the debt or report it to the credit agencies as an individual, unlicensed landlord?
