30 Day Notice

I have a tenant who gave me a 30 day notice and they have been in the unit for only three months and breaking the lease early.  They owe rent for February and probably won't pay the prorated rent for March.  Should I just deduct he past due rents from their security deposit?   Thank you,  B CA
