Non-Payment of water utilities

I received a delinquent notice from the Water district stating that there was a delinquint amount of $709 for water. The tenant hadn't paid their water bill in over a year!! NOW if they don't pay by 15 NOV then the amount goes against my property taxes! Renter is Section 8 for housing and a pain in the butt to get rent or anything that's owed to me. I live in a seperate state as well. What advice does anyone have for this situation. HELP. Silas

If you stated in the lease that they had to pay the water bill, then they are liable. You can send them a "Notice to Report Delinquent Payments".
