Damaged to door jamb

Upon visiting my rental property to collect the rent. I noticed the entry door to the basement apartment had damage to the door jamb the strike plates where missing. When asking the tenent how the problem was caused he blamed it on his kids which are 4 and 7 yrs old. What have you done in this issue? Norman

If the tenant admitted it was their fault, then you have your answer. The tenant is responsible for the damage.
