security deposit

My tenant just moved out,doing the walk though i notice that  they had remove the carpet in the family room and replace it with  wood flooring down.I did not give them permission nor did i have any knowledge of it being done.  Clearly this is a violation even though it  looks nice do i or can i deduct this from there Security Deposit
