My auntie passed away on 8/10/2018 and she was leasing a apartment in Garland Tx . The leasing office informed my mom which is my auntie's sister that she was accountable for removing everything from the apartment including the furniture , cleaning out cabinets and closets . Is this correct

Check with the local authorities first. The same thing happened to me in Milw. I had to post in the newspaper "notice to relatives". wait thirty days an the belongs became mine. I then held an estate sale and donated what was left for the tax deduction.
