I had a tenant who moved in on the middle of the month with a month-to-month lease for two months. Importantly to me, is the fact that the lease states that it is a two-month lease. She sent me a text message two days after moving in because, apparently, she had bought a home. She then moved out within 2 weeks and wanted to pay for one month's rent.
However, my lease asked for 30 days notice within a 2 month lease. Therefore, I told her that the first that she could give notice would be 30 days into her two month lease. Does that make sense? She is having difficulty understanding this.
