Why would you want to limit your rentals to only those 50+?

If your rental unit is on the same property as your own home, you may be able to stipulate who can live there. You need to call your State/Local authorities or a real estate attorney for an answer. You could also check Legal Aid. Sometimes Libraries have lawyers visiting and offering free legal advise. Try asking your local Senior Center for help. Laws vary from State-to-State as well as City-to-City. Let us know what you find out. It may help others. ---- Disclaimer: Since I’ve been answering a lot of questions, I thought I would make the following statement. I’m not affiliated with EZlandlord Forms. I’m just here (not sure how long) to help those that have questions. Having 40+ yrs with Rental Property and done well, it’s my way of “Pay it Forward (check out the movie).” However, it is up to you to become familiar with your State/Local laws. I always like to know if the suggestions I offer are helpful. Feel free to comment anytime. Thanks in Advance.

I have checked with several authorities.....statewide and local....no one can give a concrete answer.....only that if 80% of an apartments occupancy is of a certain age it can be restricted....there are seniors only subdivisions all over the country...but also it says you cannot discriminate against a family with children....so its confusing...but I appreciate your interest
