Renting my home

I own a house that I am renting out.  How do I pull a credit report for perspective tenants?  I am concerned if I have the right to do that.  I claim the income from the house on my income tax.  Is there anything else that I need to do to qualify for pulling peoples credit reports?

Have applicant(s) sign a release form allowing you to check employment, credit, etc. You can find several Credit Agencies on line that you can pull credit reports from. Check their requirements. Here's one site . -----Disclaimer: Since I’ve been answering a lot of questions, I thought I would make the following statement. I’m not affiliated with EZlandlord Forms. I’m just here (not sure how long) to help those that have questions. Having 40+ yrs with Rental Property and done well, it’s my way of “Pay it Forward (check out the movie).” However, it is up to you to become familiar with your State/Local laws. I always like to know if the suggestions I offer are helpful. Feel free to comment anytime. Thanks in Advance. BTW...check out the Rental Property Organizer at Free Trial Download.
Thank you for the information.
I also had the same issue, but property management agents at Hunter Rentals & Property Management really helped me to find the best tenant. They screened the tenant before rented out an apartment. For more information, you can visit their website.
@ Liza - why would anyone in CA use a company in Texas?
