I have a prospective tenant that submitted a rental application that was denied due to very poor credit. He has now offered to pay rent in advance for six months. Is this legal in the State of Florida?

Is the six month rent an additional security deposit, or for the actual rent? I think both are up to the discretion of the landlord, but if he pays six months in advance, it's harder to evict him if his rent is paid up.

I think the better way to say it is you would have less leverage to evict him if he is paid 6 months rent in advance.
