North Carolina allows a non-refundable deposit to be assessed for pets. Tenants did not disclose that they planned to have a dog. Tenants violated lease and had a dog in the apartment. Can I ask for a monetary compensation for having had a dog in the aparment? Apartment is rented as a pet free apartment for folks with allergies. This violation will require special cleaning.
