This is our first time Leasing out a home that we own. Should we require Renters Insurance? Why or why not?

South Carolina doesn't require Renters Insurance, but it is really your choice. Renters insurance is good because it will cover the cost of belongings lost in a fire, due to lightening, a windstorm, or hailstorm, protect you from theft, it can cover the cost of other living arrangements if your home is damaged and uninhabitable, and renter’s insurance covers the costs of accidents that occur on a renter’s property.
