Adding new person to existing lease

My tenant is wanting to add her boyfriend to the lease. Should I have him fill out application and add him as a second adult to the lease? Or do I just have him and her sign an agreement that he is being added and will abide by the terms of the original lease?

IT is always safer to screen the tenants, especially if they are being added as tenants. However, if she already qualifies to rent on her own, I would say it is safe to just add him on.
