Lease date is different than signed date

I have a tenant who signed a 1 year lease last year and it was over at the end of May but then the month to month applied. We created a new one year lease for them starting July 1st 2018 until June 30 2019 but my question is the signature date of the lease, can it be after the start date of the lease? The document states July 1st but I'm still waiting for the signature which might not be until 1st week of July since the co-signer is out of state and is notarizing her signature. Is this okay for a lease to have the sisnature date be after the start date of the lease? .....
