Tenant moved out

Non-married couple, just renewed a 1 year lease, broke up this weekend and he has reportedly moved to another state. Can I do a simple amendment via DocuSign removing his name? Is this valid assuming he signs off on it? If he does not sign off on it, but is no longer living there, is a full eviction process required to remove his name? Thank you for any insights!
