We have a lease agreement stating "no Pets". We discovered the tenants have a cat. The tenant gave us a letter from a doctor stating the "cat is prescribed for emotional support". We don't want any cats in the unit, and feel they are breaking the lease. This is not a "service animal" and as far as I can tell, we do not have to allow it. Can anyone tell us if we are legally obligated to allow this animal.

Emotional support animals are NOT protected by ADA act. You are within your rights to not allow them.
