move in date vs lease date - California

My tenants signed a lease to move in on September 1. The current tenants move out August 31. I need 2 days to do some repairs and cleaning, is it necessary to adjust the lease commencement date? Do I need to prorate the first months rent to adjust for the first 2 days that they wont have the use of the condo as I will be doing my repairs
