Typical Deposit Amounts?

Hello!  We are writing up a one year lease in the state of CA.  Is a typical deposit last month's rent?  Also, what do people typically charge as a pet deposit?  Is it typical to charge per pet?

You have to check your own city guidelines however security deposit is not usually regulated and is about one months rent. Also Pet deposits are not often regulated and may be made non-refundable.
Definitely check your own city/state guidelines.  In NJ, security deposit can be up to 1.5X the rent.  I'm not aware of any regulations regarding pet deposits so can't help you there.
