Is it legal for me to ask a potential renter to supply me with current landlords name and number...for verification purposes? If so, What I am legally allowed to ask of the current landlord in the state of Texas?

This should be on your Tenant Application to start with or it is in the application that we use from ezlandlord site. I would also ask them for a previous landlord to the most current one also. Problem is the current landlord may tell you they we great as he just wants them gone that's why we also ask for 2 to 3 past landlord referrals. Gregg S R&S rentals Katy ,Tx.
