What rights do i have as a homeowner to keep a set of keys of the rented apartment?

I think it would be reasonable to assume he is done and turning over the apt.

Do your due diligence so that you can prove that you made every effort to contact both of them to verify that they have vacated the premise.

Check to see if the gas / electric / water / garbage has been removed from their name. This is a good indication that they have moved. I would also change the locks as a safety measure. ----- Disclaimer: Since I’ve been answering a lot of questions, I thought I would make the following statement.
