State Landlord-Tenant Law
Property Given to Landlord When Tenant Moves Out

We're renting a room in our house and have a tenant moving out this week. Since he has no room in his vehicles to take his bed with him, he has offered to leave it behind for us to use in the room. That would be of benefit to us since our tenants often come with no furniture of their own. Is it OK for us to accept the bed as long as we make a written agreement for it ?

I don't think it's a problem if you accept the bed. I would definitely put it in writing, and have both parties sign it!

I agree! As long as its in writing that he wont get the bed back and he's okay with that then its a win, win.
