Late Fees

(Atlanta GA)  I ran a move-in special to get a tenant in quickly. The move-in special is half of the normal rent + the security deposit. The tenant paid the security deposit and said he would pay the amount for the move-in special on April12th. I told him if he did not pay on the 12th then he would have to pay to full amount for the rent but I did not put this in writing. Next month I have him set up for a direct deposit. What do you think is the best way and legal way to get my move-in special money? I have already tried to call him but he will not return my message.
