If my tenant refuses to communicate with me (Landlord), necessitating me to use a lawyer to communicate with them, the legal fees can be deducted from their security deposit?

Well, it depends on what the issue is that you're trying to communicate over. You can keep any part or all of a security deposit if you feel justified. If the tenant contests it, be prepared to defend your reason to a judge.
