I’m new to the forum and also fairly new to being a landlord. I'm currently preparing to lease my first property in Houston, TX, and I want to make sure I’m covering all the legal and practical bases.
A few things I could use some guidance on:
Best practices for screening tenants in Texas
Any Houston-specific lease clauses I should include (flood zones, city ordinances, etc.)
Tips for setting up clear communication and expectations from the start
Do most of you use month-to-month or fixed-term leases in the current market?
Also, if anyone has experience with EZLandlordForms templates for Texas leases, I’d love to hear how they’ve worked out for you.
