subtenant not on lease responsibilities

can a subtenant and 3rd party subtenant be held responsible for rent even if there is no lease or rental agreement

You'd have to take them to rent court and try to make a case that they violated a verbal lease agreement, which is very difficult to prove. In the future, always always ALWAYS use a written lease!
