I just sold my rental property in California. I have given my tenants notice to vacate the property (60) days and notified them that their current lease will be transferred to the new owner. Ins there a specific contract/document I need to provide the new owner?

As someone who has bought out another landlord, it would be helpful to have all the tenant records for future use. I hardly got anything other than names when I bought a duplex with tenants.

I’m surprised that your agent or title company didn’t request a copy of the rental agreement and ask for the sec.dpst you collected, before closing. You should also include all written correspondence. . -----Disclaimer: Since I’ve been answering a lot of questions, I thought I would make the following statement. I’m not affiliated with EZlandlord Forms. I’m just here (not sure how long) to help those that have questions. Having 40+ yrs with Rental Property and done well, it’s my way of “Pay it Forward (check out the movie).” However, it is up to you to become familiar with your State/Local laws.
