can I charge a pet fee for a service dog?

For a service animal you may not charge a pet deposit as they are not pets. You may charge a general cleaning fee which is charged to all tenants. If the animal is destroying the property you may have to evict the tenant on the basis that they are not holding their end of the lease up in maintaining the property.

No a service dog as long as the tenant has the official paperwork is not a pet it is considered an occupant or person! The tenant does have the right in this case and if they go after you you could also be hit with discriminating. Either way it should be noted in the lease and if there are damages it can be taken from the security deposit and treated as damages that the tenant themselves caused.
