Noise complaints

I have a tenant who is great at paying rent on time, but not so great at keeping the noise in his apartment down at night.  The police have been called three times in the past two months by neighbors complaining.  His lease isn't up for another 6 months and there isn't a noise clause in his lease. Is there anything I can do to stop this now, or do I have to wait until his lease is up?  Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

In addition to the local ordinances, you may also want to follow up with law enforcement. In some jurisdictions, the police have the ability to contact the tenant and over-ride their actions even in the absence of a noise ordinance.
Most local jurisdictions have a noise compliance policy and you may be covered in your lease by such where a statement is made that tenant shall obey all laws.
